**Urgent Message-The ENAF**
This is the form to donate money to the ENAF and for South Carolina to get credit for it. Please go to the site and give just a little. If everyone gives $10 we can have well over $4,000 added to our totals. Some states have already given $5,000 so we have some catch up to do. Remember – it is tax deductible!!
Short of taking your credit card out of your wallet and filling out the form for you, I couldn’t have made it any easier!
Let’s beat those states with thousands of members who always win!!

Be sure to mark the box for State Challenge and denote South Carolina.

South Carolina Delegates to the the National ENA Conference
You too can be a Delegate for South Carolina in Minneapolis, MN in September 2008. Every year the Emergency Nurses Association sponsors the ENA National Convention. This year’s the convention will be held in Minneapolis MN, in September. The first two days of the conference is called the General Assembly. This is an impressive experience that will energize and encourage every delegate that attends. The energy of the ENA is at its peak during this assembly. Delegates from each state are gathered to make legal decisions regarding the bylaws and goals of the ENA. Each state is represented by 1 delegate per every 50 members.
Last year, South Carolina was represented at the General Assembly by over 12 ENA members from throughout the state. We networked with nurses from all over the country. If you would like to take your Emergency nursing career to the next level, the General Assembly will definitely inspire you to be even more involved in Emergency Nursing. Delegates for the various states are chosen in a variety of ways. South Carolina uses a point system to determine our delegates. Points can be obtained in a variety of ways. You may be surprised at how many points you already have. Various certifications such as TNCC/ENPC and SANE are just a few of the ways to obtain points. One of the easiest ways to obtain points is to participate in meetings at the local and/or state level. Being informed of the current issues is pertinent for every delegate. Applications can be obtained from your chapter president. Delegates will be chosen during the June State meeting, so be sure to turn your application in to your chapter president in the upcoming months. Hope to see you in Minnesota!

Dues Increase
Over the past several years, there has been much talk of how to give more back to the members. One way that was agreed on, is through scholarships to those who are continuing their nursing education. As much as we have wanted to do this, it has never been feasible based on the budget.
Last August at the State meeting, it was voted to increase the membership dues by $5 a year for the yearly rate. (see chart for all rates – we will match AZ, FL, MA and NC). This rate increase will take place July 1, 2008.
This $5 will come directly back to South Carolina and in turn, it will be given out to the members in scholarships as that program gets developed over the next year. I am sure you will agree that this is a worthy cause and that $5 a year is more than reasonable.
